Only primary studies from the USA involving children aged 0-18 years were included in the review. Additionally, a grading system was used to classify the studies according to study design, risk of bias, publication bias, consistency of observable effects, and other categories to enable final recommendations. The table below illustrates the different steps of the recommendation process:Results<\/strong>: A total of 315 articles with 30 included studies were incorporated into the review as they met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of the 30 studies, 13 contained data that allowed for statistical analysis of efficacy and significance. The majority of the included studies were assessed as having weak clinical evidence due to methodological quality deficiencies and biases. Furthermore, the authors noted a limitation of the scoping review, namely that only studies from the USA were included. The chart below shows the relative frequencies of study types in percentages: <\/p>\n
Figure 2: Relative frequency of studies included in the review, in percent. However, no adverse effects were observed after treatment with OMT, demonstrating the safety and feasibility of OMT in the clinical setting. The researchers recommend further high-quality research in this area to realize the potential of OMT in pediatrics and to substantiate its efficacy (DeMarsh et al. 2021).LiteratureDeMarsh S, Huntzinger A, Gehred A, et al.
