Pediatric Osteopathy: Gentle Touch in the Early Years of Life

About this book

In osteopathy, blockages and disturbances are resolved through gentle touch. This treatment is pain-free and simultaneously stimulates the body’s self-healing powers. Since osteopathic techniques are so gentle and barely perceptible, they are particularly well-suited for infants and children. Many health impairments that are not yet visible or barely noticeable in early childhood can be detected and treated early by osteopaths. This allows issues that could later lead to problems or chronic conditions to be resolved at a young age. The book presents the areas of pregnancy, birth preparation, birth, and early childhood development from an osteopathic perspective and provides practical advice for parents. Torsten Liem D.O., Osteopath (G.Os.C.-G.B.) is a member of the General Osteopathic Council (England), the World Osteopathic Health Organisation (WOHO), and the Academy of Osteopathy, Germany. In addition, he is trained in psychotherapy, NLP and hypnosis, as well as acupuncture (Beijing, China). He is the director of the Osteopathie Schule Deutschland (OSD) and a practice in Hamburg. Christof Plothe is a naturopathic practitioner with his own osteopathy practice in Alzey, Rhineland-Palatinate.
