People between the ages of 18–40 should be able to squeeze at least 35 kg for approximately 30 seconds; in older individuals, the strength may be lower. The duration also provides information about muscle performance.
Measuring Grip Strength
You will need
a hand dynamometer (gym) or
an adjustable hand trainer (sports store, inexpensive models under €20) or
a bathroom scale

Set the load on the hand trainer and test which resistance you can manage. If you have a scale available, place one hand on the top and one on the bottom and squeeze the scale as hard as possible with both hands; you can then read your result.
If you can squeeze less than 24 kg, this could—depending on your age—indicate health issues associated with a significant decrease in muscle quality. To gain clarity, discuss the result with your practitioner.
